Tennis NSW has launched its first Inclusion & Diversity Plan (2021-2025) that sets out the roadmap to making tennis the most welcoming, safe and inclusive sport for people from diverse backgrounds.<\/p>\n
The Tennis NSW Vision 2025 Strategic Plan highlights Inclusion and Diversity in Tennis as a priority, and the role of Tennis NSW is to inspire, empower and engage the NSW tennis family to help grow the sport.<\/p>\n
We believe that to be inclusive, we must reflect the diversity of our local tennis communities and that everyone should have the opportunity to be included and engaged in a positive tennis experience.<\/p>\n
Consultation with stakeholders\u2019 representative of the diverse tennis community has shaped the new Inclusion & Diversity Plan for the next five years.<\/p>\n
\u201cTennis plays a vital role in the development of players and promoting social inclusion in NSW communities. Our Inclusion & Diversity Plan further highlights this and we look forward to working with our Clubs, Coaches and Councils to make tennis the most welcoming, inclusive and safe sport for all\u201d, Tennis NSW CEO Lawrence Robertson said.<\/p>\n
The Plan will focus on the following four pillars:<\/p>\n
1. Lead \u2013 Build an inclusive and diverse organisation and workforce
\n2. Educate \u2013 Educate and empower the tennis family to embrace inclusion and diversity
\n3. Promote \u2013 Promote and celebrate our diverse tennis community
\n4. Activate \u2013 Provide pathways and access to tennis for players from diverse backgrounds<\/p>\n
