Locals and visitors to the Tilligerry region can now go online
and make a booking, pay via debit or credit card and be on court within
minutes.

The club has
waited a considerable period of time to get their online booking system
operational but the gift has arrived just in time for the Summer. To make a
booking customers log onto https://play.tennis.com.au/tilligerrytennisclub/Admin/CourtHire.

Tilligerry
Tennis Club President Ruth Hack, is delighted to see the system available to
the community to allow automated access without volunteers needing to handle
keys. An added bonus for the club is that the system records player contacts
details which will allow the club to invite social tennis participants to be
invited to club activities that are planned to be hosted in 2021.

Club Coach James
Bellette and his program participants loved the ease of access from the keypad
locking system on the first morning of activities through the new access
system. James said he is “glad that he can now access the lights automatically
during the winter months without having to get a committee member down to the
facility to turn them on”.

2020 has been a
very good year for the club with major works being completed to upgrade the
clubhouse and outdoor undercover area early in the year before the COVID-19
pandemic hit and stopped activities for a month. The club members were keen to
stay healthy and safe so adopted the Tennis NSW Community Play Guidelines and
commenced their weekly program activities with really strong participation numbers
throughout the year.

Tilligerry forms
a major area for tourist activities over the festive season so the club is
anticipating that the new system will help enhance the venue usage and bring
much needed additional funding into the facility to build a practice hitting
wall and a junior Hotshots court later in 2021. Juniors in the area love tennis
on a Saturday morning and the committee’s plan is to ensure that facilities are
available for the junior’s development and also have accessibility options
available for families to use the facility at any time of the year.

The committee would like to thank Port Stephens Council for allowing the online booking system upgrade and their electricians assistance with the instillation. Also, they’d like to thank Tennis Australia and Tennis NSW staff for their ongoing assistance to get the system operational during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Get in touch with your local Tennis Development Officer to find out more – https://www.tennis.com.au/nsw/about-us/meet-the-team/staff

Tilligerry Tennis Club launch the third Tennis Australia Book a Court System in the Port Stephens region.
