NSW grassroots tennis will receive a $300,000 funding boost with the opening of the NSW ATP Cup Tennis Legacy Fund.<\/p>\n
Acting Minister for Sport Geoff Lee said the first round of the fund will help clubs, associations and councils improve tennis facilities and programs in NSW.<\/p>\n
\u201cSydney hosted a brilliant inaugural ATP Cup with the world\u2019s best turning it on for the fans with some terrific tennis in Ken Rosewall Arena,\u201d Mr Lee said.
\n\u201cNow it\u2019s important we capitalise on the tournament\u2019s success and help boost the popularity of tennis in NSW for grassroots clubs and councils.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe NSW Government has partnered with Tennis NSW to ensure participants of all ages and abilities have access to high quality programs and facilities across NSW.
\nApplications are now open for two categories supporting facility upgrades and participation initiatives.<\/p>\n
The funding comes in addition to the NSW Government\u2019s $50.5 million upgrade of the Ken Rosewall Arena at Sydney Olympic Park.<\/p>\n
Tennis NSW CEO Lawrence Robertson said the partnership will deliver more than $5 million in funding to local tennis clubs, providers and venues over three years.
\n\u201cThe creation of the NSW ATP Cup Tennis Legacy Fund will help the NSW tennis community share in the benefits of hosting the newest and most exciting teams event in the tennis world, creating lasting legacies in our clubs and venues across the State\u201d, Mr Robertson said.<\/p>\n
