{"id":13472,"date":"2018-09-04T11:22:25","date_gmt":"2018-09-04T01:22:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/nsw\/?p=13472"},"modified":"2018-09-04T11:25:32","modified_gmt":"2018-09-04T01:25:32","slug":"cumberland-council-book-a-court-launch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/nsw\/news\/2018\/09\/04\/cumberland-council-book-a-court-launch","title":{"rendered":"Cumberland Council Book a Court Launch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are very proud to announce that Cumberland Council is the first council in Australia to implement Book a Court across all their tennis venues.<\/p>\n<p>Ten tennis clubs in the Cumberland area of Sydney\u2019s western suburbs have committed to making tennis more accessible by giving the local community the opportunity to book tennis courts when they want via a new online booking system.<\/p>\n<p>Cumberland Mayor Greg Cummings joined Tennis Australia\u2019s Patrick McInerney to officially mark the occasion on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The improved booking process allows local residents to book and pay online, with players then given a PIN that provides access to the court and turns on the lights at their designated time.<\/p>\n<p>The new process provides both flexibility and freedom for players who can now easily access courts within the Cumberland area.<\/p>\n<p>The Cumberland Council venues that have committed to the installation are:<br \/>\n\u2022 Bathurst Street Tennis Courts<br \/>\n\u2022 Byrnes Street Tennis Courts<br \/>\n\u2022 Central Gardens Tennis Courts<br \/>\n\u2022 Civic Park Tennis Courts<br \/>\n\u2022 Dirrabarri Tennis Courts<br \/>\n\u2022 Fullagar Road Tennis Courts<br \/>\n\u2022 Greystanes Sportsground Tennis Courts<br \/>\n\u2022 Guildford West Sportsground<br \/>\n\u2022 Lawson Square Park Tennis Courts<br \/>\n\u2022 Merrylands Park Tennis Courts<\/p>\n<p>Book a Court is an online court booking and payment platform that connects with pin pad technology on a club\u2019s gate. It is easy to use for both players and club administrators, which means more time on court for everyone.<\/p>\n<p>Cumberland Council Mayor Greg Cummings said he was excited that the new booking system had arrived in Cumberland.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCumberland has 26 tennis courts across ten locations available for the community to hire. The new booking system will make it easy for residents to take to the court and get active,\u201d Mayor Cummings said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhether you\u2019ve played for years or are wanting to start out, now is the time to get involved.
