{"id":12601,"date":"2017-03-22T14:25:30","date_gmt":"2017-03-22T03:25:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/nsw\/?p=12601"},"modified":"2017-03-22T14:25:30","modified_gmt":"2017-03-22T03:25:30","slug":"12u-state-teams-champions-crowned","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/nsw\/news\/2017\/03\/22\/12u-state-teams-champions-crowned","title":{"rendered":"12\/U State Teams champions crowned"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2017 NSW 12\/U State Teams Championships were held at Bathurst Tennis Centre over the weekend, with 96 athletes from seven NSW regions as well as ACT competing for the the Jan O\u2019Neill Cup (girls) and the Tony Roche Cup (boys).<\/p>\n<p>The event provides the state\u2019s best 12 and under players with first class competition, in an enjoyable team atmosphere, whilst introducing the educational aspect of on-court managers.<\/p>\n<p>Jan O\u2019Neill was in attendance on the Saturday and spent the day watching NSW\u2019s most promising young girls compete for her namesake trophy<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201dIt was fantastic to see such a high level of tennis and great sportsmanship throughout the whole weekend, and having Jan O\u2019Neill in attendance was such a treat for the players\u201d said Tournament Director Nikita Sayle.<\/p>\n<p>Both of the finals were very tightly contested, with the final of the Tony Roche Cup ending in a draw, with the North East Breakers and ACT Velocity even on sets and games at the end of the match.
