NSW took home six of the top gongs on offer at last night’s Newcombe Medal, Australian Tennis Awards,\u00a0capping an outstanding year for the NSW tennis community.<\/p>\n

Victoria’s dual Paralympic gold medalist Dylan Alcott took home the Newcombe Medal, the first athlete with a disability to win Australia’s most prestigious tennis accolade.<\/p>\n

Des Tyson, who coaches Newcombe Medal finalist Jordan Thompson, took home the Coaching Excellence – High Performance awards, with Jordan’s dad Stephen Thompson (Coaching Excellence – Talent Development) and Parkes’ Helen Magill (Coaching Excellence – Club) completing a NSW sweep of the coaching awards.<\/p>\n

Rising star and Sydneysider Alex De Minaur was crowned Male Junior Athlete of the Year, while Troy Deighton claimed the Excellence in Officiating award and Leanne Swaysland won the Most Outstanding Tennis Senior.<\/p>\n
