{"id":24985,"date":"2024-02-29T08:37:59","date_gmt":"2024-02-28T21:37:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/nsw\/?page_id=24985"},"modified":"2026-02-17T11:37:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-17T00:37:08","slug":"sydney-badge-reserve-players","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/nsw\/players\/competitive-play\/leagues\/sydney-badge\/sydney-badge-reserve-players","title":{"rendered":"Sydney Badge Reserve Players"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5 style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>What is a Reserve Player?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>A <strong>Reserve Player<\/strong> is a player who is not nominated as a Base Player for any team and may be selected to play for a team in a match, subject to eligibility requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Reserve players provide flexibility to teams throughout the season.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Eligibility Requirements<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>To be eligible to participate as a Reserve Player in 2026, a player must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hold a <strong>Tennis Australia Competitive Player Profile<\/strong> (enabling entry into Match Centre), and<\/li>\n<li>Have an <strong>active UTR rating at the time of selection<\/strong> that is <strong>below the UTR upper limit for the relevant division<\/strong>, as determined by the Sydney Badge Grading Panel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Following completion of grading, the <strong>UTR upper limits for each division will be published on this page<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If you are unsure whether you have a Competitive Player Profile, or require assistance creating one, please refer to the \u2018Competitive Player Profile\u2019 section of the Sydney Badge website.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Expressing Interest as a Reserve Player<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Players may express their interest in being a Reserve Player by completing the <strong>2026 Reserve Player Registration Form<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em>A link to the registration form will appear at the top of this page once available.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Completion of the form is <strong>optional<\/strong>.<br \/>\nPlayers are not required to register in order to be eligible to act as a reserve.<\/p>\n<p>However, players who complete the form:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Will be included in the official <strong>Reserve Player Pool document<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Consent to their details being shared with Sydney Badge Club Delegates and Team Captains<\/li>\n<li>Acknowledge that clubs may contact them regarding potential selection as a reserve player<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Submitting the form does not guarantee selection, and Reserve Players are under no obligation to accept an invitation to play.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Reserve \u2013 Base Player<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>If a reserve competes for a team three (3) times throughout the season, they will automatically become a base player for that team.
