The sport is flexible \u2014 rules, equipment, coaching and formats can be adapted so participation is meaningful and successful for each individual.<\/p>\n<p>This includes but is not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Players with intellectual disability and autism<\/li>\n<li>Blind and low vision players<\/li>\n<li>Players who are deaf or hard of hearing<\/li>\n<li>Wheelchair tennis<\/li>\n<li>Para\u2011standing \/ adaptive standing tennis<\/li>\n<li>Social, participation and community\u2011based play<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Programs and pathways range from social play to modified competitive opportunities.<\/p>\n<h3>For Coaches<\/h3>\n<h6>Inclusion &amp; Education<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>Coaches are strongly encouraged to complete inclusion\u2011focused education such as <strong>Sport4All<\/strong>, an online training and inclusion resource developed in partnership with the Australian Government, Australian Sports Commission and people with lived experience of disability. This training helps coaches interpret how to adapt sessions, communication and activities for all participants.<\/li>\n<li>Tennis Australia Coach Members can also access adaptive coaching resources and tips via Bounce. These cover practical court\u2011based adaptations, skill progression and safe, inclusive session management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>For Players &amp; Families<\/h3>\n<h6>Getting Started<\/h6>\n<p>Adaptive Tennis is open to players regardless of prior tennis experience. Beginners and experienced players alike are welcome. It can be played in:<br \/>\n\u2011 Community sessions<br \/>\n\u2011 Club programs<br \/>\n\u2011 School visits<br \/>\n\u2011 Social events<br \/>\n\u2011 Competitive events tailored to adaptive categories<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/play\/inclusive-tennis\/all-abilities\"><strong>Tennis Programs &amp; Competitions for Players with All Abilities<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Eligibility &amp; Classification<\/h3>\n<p>Different adaptive pathways have different classification frameworks.
