It is also known that systemic biases get in the way of women\u2019s advancement and that the solutions require systemic change.<br \/>\nInclusive sporting environments are those where gender roles, stereotypes and unconscious bias are challenged, and respectful, equal relationships are the norm.<\/p>\n<p>Leaders on and off the field in sport are key influencers, yet fewer women than men are appointed leaders. Strong gender balanced leadership that brings breadth of perspective, better decision making and encourages cultural change to better support girls\u2019 and women\u2019s involvement.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div><em>(Source: Her Sport Her Way Strategy)<\/em><\/div>\n<div>\n<h4>Her Sport Her Way<\/h4>\n<p>The NSW Government, Office of Sport, Women in Sport Strategy, Her Sport Her Way (2019-2023) aims to build a stronger sport sector where women and girls are valued, recognised and have equal choices and opportunities to lead and participate. It provides a clear role for the NSW Government to work with the sector and new partners in innovative ways to shape the future of women\u2019s sport.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sport.nsw.gov.au\/sites\/default\/files\/2021-05\/women-in-sport-her-sport-her-way-strategy.pdf\">Click here<\/a>\u00a0to view the Strategy.<\/p>\n<p>Tennis NSW has been successful in receiving valuable grant funding from the NSW Government, through Her Sport Her Way grant for the following projects that increase women and girls&#8217; involvement in tennis:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5>Tennis NSW Sheroes Program<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Supporting Women in tennis across various roles develop skills and create networks to increase their leadership participation in the sport and participation outcomes for women and girls.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>\u00a0Gender Equity Pilot Program<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Four Clubs in NSW participated in a pilot program that included auditing, education and action planning to improve gender equity in their local environments. It is designed so that the Tennis NSW Board and Management team are able to receive direct input from youth on issues of importance to them relating to tennis in the most interactive and effective way possible.<\/p>\n<p>The YAG will also give young people the opportunity for growth and personal development, whilst gaining an insight into a state based sporting organisation.
