From the 2024\/25 affiliation period onwards, Members will be asked to evidence that they are complying with their legal obligation to verify their workers directly with the Office of Children\u2019s Guardian (<strong>OCG<\/strong>). This check plays an important part in safeguarding children involved in tennis and in providing a child safe and child friendly sport environment.<\/p>\n<p>Your Club, Centre or Association needs to Identify, Notify, Register and Verify!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Identify<\/strong> the roles in your organisation that need a WWCC. Some of these roles in tennis include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All paid roles (including coaches) that involve working with children under 18<\/li>\n<li>Volunteer coaches, all committee members, pro shop\/canteen personnel, grounds keepers and any other role that interacts with children under 18 (unless exempt)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Notify<\/strong> existing paid workers and volunteers that they need to provide you with a WWCC number.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Register <\/strong>your club online as an employer by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wwccemployer.ocg.nsw.gov.au\/Register\">clicking here<\/a><\/strong><\/span>. The OCG considers you an employer if you have any workers (paid\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>AND\/OR<\/strong><\/span><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>volunteers) engaged in child related roles.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ocg.nsw.gov.au\/resources\/employers-verifying-working-children-check\">Watch the video here <\/a><\/strong>for step by step instructions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Verify <\/strong>your workers and volunteers, this\u00a0can only be done through the OCG\u2019s dedicated online verification portal.<\/p>\n<p>In order to verify your workers through the online portal the following steps should be followed:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Create and Employer Profile with the OCG here: <a href=\"https:\/\/wwccemployer.ocg.nsw.gov.au\/Register\">Employer registration <\/a><\/li>\n<li>Log into your Employer Profile here: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wwccemployer.ocg.nsw.gov.au\/Login\">Employer login<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Enter in a worker\u2019s\n<ol>\n<li>family name<\/li>\n<li>birth date<\/li>\n<li>Working with Children Check (WWC) number or Application (APP) number<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Click \u2018Add\u2019 to add the worker\u2019s details to a list below. Complete the fields for all workers you want to verify.<\/li>\n<li>Once you have added all the worker details you wish to verify, click, \u2018Verify\u2019. This will generate a short report indicating the WWCC status of any details you entered.\n<ol>\n<li>A person can only be employed or engaged in child-related work if the status is \u201cCleared\u201d or \u201cApplication in progress\u201d<\/li>\n<li>See the OCG\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/ocg.nsw.gov.au\/working-children-check\/wwcc-information-organisations\/wwcc-status\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>WWCC status<\/strong><\/span><\/a> page for guidance on what different statuses mean.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Further support in registering with the OCG and verifying worker\u2019s details can be found at the OCG website here: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ocg.nsw.gov.au\/working-children-check\/wwcc-information-organisations\/help-register-and-verify\">Help to register and verify<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>You can also refer to Tennis NSW\u2019s \u2018How to Guide\u2019 for verification available <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/nsw\/files\/2024\/02\/WWCC-Verification-How-to-Guide.pdf\">here<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that you do not need to verify all your workers in one go.
