Tennis Country

What is Tennis Country?

The role of Tennis Country is to develop and promote strategies to grow tennis across all six country regions within NSW, in alignment with the TNSW strategic plan. Tennis Country is made up of six Country Delegates from across the six country regions, a Tennis NSW Senior Management Representative, and an independent Chairperson. Tennis Country provides advice to the Board and management on the sport in regional and rural NSW.

A copy of the Tennis Country Charter can be found here.

The six Country Delegates work closely with the TNSW staff in each of their respective regions (Participation Leaders & Regional Administrators) to ensure a consistent and collaborative approach to the way tennis is delivered throughout the region.

The 2020 Priceline Country Closed Championships – Update

On June 3, the Tennis Country Committee and Country Championships Working Group met to discuss the determination of the 2020 Country Championships and the various scenarios/options available for facilitation of this year’s event.

Review and consideration was taken around the updated NSW Government Public Health Orders and the current position of Australian Ranking tournaments remaining postponed into July.

It was determined that the 2020 Country Championships (AMT / JT) would not be able to be facilitated on the previously advised dates of July 3-10 and as such has been postponed.

The Tennis Country Committee and Tennis NSW Tournaments team are currently exploring several alternate dates later in the calendar year (Sept, Oct) of which the event may be facilitated and will continue to provide constant updates to all stakeholders.

This continues to remain a challenging time for all sport and we appreciate your understanding and support.
