Murrumbeena Tennis Club

$240,000 Pavilion Redevelopment announced for MTC

31 October 2018 |
Our small tennis club is growing from strength to strength. On the 25th October we received an amazing announcement from the state government with funding assistance of $240,000 to redevelop of our tired old clubhouse pavilion.
Minister John Eren (holding the racquet) & MP Steve Dimopolous (pictured below) came out to the club on Thursday 25 October to make the announcement in front of current and past players/members, coaches, and supporters including 91 years young Patricia Ladson, holding onto her walker, below. Patricia played mid-week ladies social tennis well into her 80s, and is an inspiration to us all.

This is what MP Steve Dimopolous posted on his Facebook page about the announcement.

“Local sports clubs. They deserve our support. And today, we’re backing them even more. $240,000 for the Murrumbeena Tennis Club for a major redevelopment of the pavilion. Much needed and long overdue. We’re partnering with the club and Glen Eira Council to get it done.

Since 2015, we’ve invested over $7 million in sports clubs and facilities just in our community and over $420 million across Victoria. The largest ever boost to grassroots sport. Because it matters. #labor#gettingthingsdone#murrumbeena With the tireless John Eren MP
