Vote for our Community Project!

16 July 2019 |

We have been shortlisted for a NSW Government My Community Project grant! Our application is for a major upgrade to the lighting on our courts so all three courts are usable at night time. If you are a resident of the Goulburn Electorate and over 16 years of age you can help us win the grant by voting for our project before 15 August 2019.

You can vote online at mycommunityproject.service.nsw.gov.au or at your local Service NSW Centre. For more information on how to vote, visit nsw.gov.au/mycommunityproject or please refer to the Fact sheet for voters.

What is our project about?

Improving the quality of lighting over the courts will allow for the courts to be used in the evenings for general use, coaching, social events and tournaments. Conditions of play will be increased to a higher standard allowing for better community engagement and use of the courts. The club will have the ability to provide additional coaching, tournaments and social events all year round. Current lighting is insufficient for play. The community will benefit from increased access and availability to evening recreational sport locally reducing the need to travel inter-town. With increasing population growth in the area, it will provide more opportunities for fitness, wellbeing and social interaction within the local community. With the lack of local schools in Murrumbateman, it will increase the ability for children to access local sport.

Why should you vote for our project?

  • Increased access and availability of local sporting facilities.
  • Would bring Murrumbateman tennis courts into line with facilities provided in Yass and Canberra.
  • Provide community members with additional local fitness and social sporting activities.
