Grahame Priest & Warren McLennan Memorial Charity Day

Muller Park Tennis Club Grahame Priest and Warren McLennan Memorial Charity Day  is named in honour of two former Club members.

Grahame Priest was an active and supporting member of Muller Park Tennis Club for many years – serving as Vice President and always there to help keep the Club running smoothly, along with his wife Gail, who was our Secretary for five years. Sadly Grahame passed away at the very young age of 40 years in 1997, after a battle with cancer, leaving a young family who all played tennis.

Warren McLennan was the first President of Muller Park Tennis Club when it was formed in 1974. He also held the position of Club Secretary from 1976 to 1979. He was made a life member in 1980. He was a stalwart of the Club and tennis Champion, winning many Singles Championships

over the years. He would lead the charge at working bees and fundraising activities along with his tennis playing wife Bev and family. His daughter Kathy was the Ladies Singles Champion in 1980.

Warren was the heart and soul of Macquarie Publications (Daily Liberal) for more than 35 years and retired in 1997. He lost his battle with cancer in 1999 at the age of 60 years.

Since 1995 Muller Park Tennis Club Inc. has raised funds for local cancer support services. For the first five years funds went to the Dubbo Oncology Unit. Since then all funds raised have been donated to Camp Quality Western Region. A grand total of over $50,000 has been raised over the years, supporting cancer patients and their families in the local community.
