The Coach: Ian Cowan is presently a Health and Physical Education teacher at Nambour High School.  He has worked in education for over 30 years and has a degree in Human Movement Studies.  He has coached tennis in the USA, Europe, Japan and Australia. Ian is qualified as a Level 2 Coach Tennis Australia Club Professional.

Ian’s strengths lie in the areas of motivation, the creation of safe learning environments and nurturing the individual through praise and support.

  • Xander Johnson-Barnes: Traineeship (Cert 3 in Sport & Recreation)

All coaches are trained in first aid response and CPR.

Adult Coaching:

Adult coaching is available, either private or group, for the complete beginner to players who are interested in advancing their game. Programs can be tailored to the needs of the individual, whether you wish to improve techniques or develop your agility and fitness for the game.

Junior Coaching: 

Coaching is available for two categories of player:

Developing Players – This program is designed to get young players started.  The emphasis is on fun, games based learning and an introduction to racquet control.

Intermediate Players – This program introduces players to a range of tennis skills in game situations.

The philosophy here is maximum participation in a safe and fun environment.

Junior Group Coaching Sessions Available

Monday 7.45 – 8.30am – Developing Players

Wednesday 3.15 – 4pm – Developing Players

Wednesday 4.15 – 5.15pm – Intermediate Singles Play
