Club update | Good News!

16 May 2020 |

Dear valued members and guests,

More good news!  With the Queensland Government’s Stage 1 lifting of Covid-19 restrictions and Tennis Queensland’s advice we are now able to resume regular social tennis play with immediate effect.  Please note it is a requirement for resumption of play that the Club and those playing continue to meet Tennis Queensland and Queensland Government Covid-19 Guidelines.  A link to the full Tennis Queensland Covid-19 Community Tennis Guidelines is provided here (Community-Tennis-Guidelines-Level-B.pdf).  Not all of these guidelines apply to small clubs but please read these prior to playing together with the Club’s key guidelines below.

As a condition of the use of club facilities the following should be adhered to.  Failure to do so may result in the Club being forced to close the courts again:

–  doubles and singles play permitted

–  clubhouse, deck and toilets will be open but please observe social distancing and hygiene precautions.  Maximum of four people in the clubhouse and four on the deck please

–  please sanitise your hands before and after using the toilet or touching anything in the clubhouse

–  players to arrive, play and leave as soon as possible

–  to the extent possible players should maintain 1.5m social distancing rules at all times on the courts

–  players should use hand sanitiser before and after play

–  tennis balls will be provided. Please avoid touching your face when handling tennis balls

–  no social activities other than playing tennis please

–  players are advised that they play at their own risk

Court Hire Bookings

–  courts are available for the use of club members and the general public

–  court use will again be subject to previous court hire charges

–  prior to playing, members and the public should book a court on-line from the Club’s website booking system (here) ie. no SMS bookings

–  names of all players should be provided at the time of booking

–  the combination padlock number to the entrance gate will be advised at the time of booking

–  Covid-19 precautions in relation to hygiene and social distancing should be observed

We hope all our members enjoy being back on the courts.
