Keon Park Tennis Club

60th Anniversary Celebrations

Keon Park Tennis Club has been a part of the landscape in Reservoir for 60 years. Starting as 2 courts and a clubhouse we now have 7 courts 6 of which have lights, a Clubhouse and other facilities. In those 60 years we have seen thousands of people through the gates as members, playing competition or as spectators to this great sport.

This celebration, held on Sunday November 23rd, 2014 was a fantastic event for all in attendance. The day, which was the culmination of months of planning, celebrated those who have played, supported and made the Club what it is. The photo display and Walk of Honour provided conversation starters and hours of reminiscing. The cake, speeches and attendance by one of our foundation members brought to life the history of the Club.

The night was also a time to celebrate the successes of the current generation of players, with the presentation of the trophies for the 2014 Club Championships. We were also fortunate enough to have attendees from the Darebin Council and Tennis Victoria to celebrate the hard work of our very own Barbara Currie. Barbara is responsible for a lot of what happens at the Club and it was fitting that we celebrate her hard work surrounded by so many of the people that have benefited from it over the years.

Thanks to all of those who attended and made the day what it was. Thanks also to Digital Beard Photography for documenting the day!
