Tournaments and Club Championships

HKDTA has been invited to take part in the National Primary Games 2018.

The National Youth Games is a festival of sport for children aged U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14 and U15 (Year 3-9) from across the country competing over two days in a Carnival atmosphere hosted by the Northern Inland Academy of Sport in the beautiful city of Tamworth.

The NPG embraces inclusivity, enjoyment, friendship in sport and sportsmanship as its core values all of which are celebrated through the Spirit of the Olympics and is set to be held over the last weekend of the July school holidays in NSW – 21st and 22nd July 2018.

Tennis at the 2018 NPG will feature for U8, U10, U12 and U14 age groups with teams of four (singles & doubles) to be played under the rules of those years. The Tennis will be hosted at Treloar Park and West Tamworth tennis courts. Players of all levels are invited to the games.

For each match, athletes will compete in a singles and doubles match. Each match will be based on time on the court (roughly 30 minute rotations of games) which allows all athletes to have the same amount of game time as fellow athletes. There are 4 players per team. But it is also possible to accommodate for individual athletes who will be added into a team for the weekend.

The NPG is supported by the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) who will be providing Olympians as special guests in support of this festival of sport, along with other high profile performers to entertain the children and their families at a special function throughout the weekend.

Player registrations will be done through your club (HKDTA). The associated event registration fee of $45 per player (which covers court hire, insurance, Games Celebration Function and a NPG beanie to take home) will be paid through HKDTA. But all players need to seek their own accommodation.

Registrations will close on the 2nd of July, 2018. Please contact us if you would like to register ([email protected])!
