Hallett Cove Beach Tennis Club Inc was founded in 1980, and has grown to be a successful community based tennis club. We have always strived to promote, encourage, and advance the game of tennis, and to provide, control and maintain suitable grounds and premises for this purpose.
We have enjoyed the company and association of many members, both junior and senior, and as both competition and social players. Some have gone on to achieve notable success. We are affiliated with Tennis SA and with the Glenelg District Tennis Association, and the benefits of those associations. We are also proud of our sporting achievements and in providing a healthy sporting outlet for our community. Since the foundation, we have improved the clubs facilities with the addiction of a clubhouse, 2 additional courts, and court lighting. These facilities have been used for night tennis, club tennis tournaments, and regular Saturday competition tennis. As part of our obligation to manage the facilities, we are working with the Marion Council on an improvement program.
We are keen to meet new members (or reacquaint with past members), whether as a competitive player, social player, or purely to enjoy the camaraderie at our club. We have a relatively new and active management committee, but are always open to any “new blood” to help us. We are striving to again make our club an attractive choice for you, and we are fortunate to have the support of our local MP David Speirs as our club patron.
We offer a range of benefits including the services of accredited tennis coach Ian Pickering, the opportunity to play tennis at a level that suits you, a co-ordinated and inclusive approach to junior tennis programs, and the opportunity for you to belong to a worthwhile community based sporting club.
