Green Gully Tennis Club

COVID-19 – Green Gully Tennis Club Member Update - 2nd July

01 July 2020 |

Dear Members

I write to advise you of the Committee’s decision to temporarily cease members’ access to the Green Gully Tennis Club facilities until further notice.

This decision has been made on the recommendation of Brimbank City Council, Tennis Victoria and is in line with Federal Government guidelines following the continued escalation of social isolation measures in Victoria to restrict the spread of Coronavirus. As a result of this decision, effective immediately:

All tennis programs and coaching are cancelled, including one on one coaching, until further notice;
All Club activities, competition and social play are cancelled until further notice;
All members’ access to the Club facilities will be disabled until further notice.

This has been a very difficult decision – particularly because we know many of our members are looking for ways to remain fit and active whilst adhering to very strict social distancing guidelines. We are also acutely aware that this decision will impact the livelihood of our excellent and valued tennis coaches. However, I know that Steve and Liisa support our view that the health and wellbeing of our members and the broader community must be our priority at this time.

If you have any questions regarding coaching, please contact Steve directly on 0403 438 765.

We all know how important it is to follow the Government and Health officials’ advice to reduce the spread of the virus and on behalf of the Committee I thank you in advance for your understanding and compliance with these restrictions.

I will keep you informed as soon as we are advised by the relevant authorities that it is safe to resume tennis. Until then I want to ask everyone to look after yourself, look out for your loved ones and be mindful of our community in all that you do to stay safe and healthy. We look forward to seeing you back at the Club enjoying your tennis very soon.

Regards

Helen Chetcuti

President
