Glenhuntly Tennis Club

Looking Forward to 2021 at Glen Huntly Tennis Club

20 December 2020 |

To start
2021 a lot of new members have joined in the last six weeks and we have an
enthusiastic new Committee and lots of organised social tennis. The club has
invested in new fencing with the assistance of local Council and garden beds
around the club rooms. Plus a new automated Book-a-Court system starts in a few
weeks.

Our AGM
was held on Sunday 13 December 2020. Afterwards we had a fun bbq and social
tennis. Our new Committee has some new, younger members, including 6 men and 6
women:

Graham Ihlein (President), Sue Stagg (Vice-President), Steve Cramond (Secretary), Ray Yates (Treasurer) and Committee Members Anna Goddard, Karen Goddard, Tony Harding, Sally Jandric, Megan McGregor, Mikayla Persegati, Ron Slamowicz, Michael Stagg & Phil Mattei (Coach invited as guest).

Book-a-Court
In the next few weeks the automated court entry system
Book-a-Court will begin at Glen Huntly Tennis Club (electrics etc nearly
completed). This will mean people can go online, see available courts, book a
court and pay online, then enter the courts with the one-off code given to them
by the computer system. We’ll have contact details. Members will play for free,
except to pay for lights and visitors. If needed, lights will automatically
turn on and off. We’ll post full info soon.

Juniors – If you
may want to play in a team on Saturday or Sunday mornings (Feb-June), please
let coach Phil know on 0418 399 653 or [email protected].

Casual
Tennis –
Our Club organised social tennis is held for everyone Sundays
from 2pm and Mondays from 5.30pm. Your first visit is free and we supply tennis
balls. We’d like to resume night tennis (for which we need two volunteer
organisers) and possibly start Sunday mornings 9.30-12. Just come along or
contact Graham Ihlein on 0400 598 705.
