Athlete eligibility:
- Must have entered tournament
- Preferably athlete expresses interest in Wild Card via TA website
Main Draw Allocation:
Based on current 2017 national junior championships structure:

* Note:
- NSW, QLD and VIC positions into the Australian Championships are decided by state qualifying events held in October/November.
- NT based players are permitted to enter the QLD state qualifying event.
- ACT based players are permitted to enter the NSW state qualifying event.
- TAS based players are permitted to enter the VIC state qualifying event.
Decision criteria:
Selectors discretion will be based on:
- Results of a WildCard playoff event, and/or;
- The athletes commitment, ranking, previous performances, character and potential

Men’s events:
- Local TA Men’s/Boy’s Tennis Coaches
- Head of Men’s Tennis (Decision Maker – 16’s Plus)
- National Talent Development Manager (Decision Maker – Juniors)
Women’s events:
- Local TA Women’s/Girl’s Tennis Coaches
- Head of Women’s Tennis (Decision Maker – 16’s Plus)
- National Talent Development Manager (Decision Maker – Juniors)
The Selectors decision is final and there is no avenue to appeal under this process.
Notes:
- From time to time, independent advice will be sought from Tennis experts regarding athlete eligibility and suitability.
- All Wild Card nominations to be cleared by Integrity Unit prior to any athlete communications.
- Should an Integrity issue arise, the Integrity experts are to provide practical, relevant advice and guidance to the selection Panel regarding communication and management of the issue. This must be provided in a timely, proactive fashion.
- If relevant, the Integrity experts must also be the point of contact with the athlete in question.
