SENIOR REGIONAL COMPETITION
The Club has teams in the Eastern Region Tennis competition, which provides for Men’s, Mixed and Open teams. It is conducted in both the Summer (Saturdays and Sundays) and Winter seasons (Saturdays only), catering for players of all standards. Prospective team members should sign list on Club notice board in mid-August to play Summer season (starting early October) and in early February to play Winter season (starting early May).
MIDWEEK LADIES’ COMPETITION
Teams are entered in two competitions: Midweek Eastern Metropolitan Region Ladies’ Tennis Association (MEMRLTA) on Tuesdays, and Eastern District Women’s Tennis Association (EDWTA) on Wednesdays. Prospective team members should sign list on Club notice board in about first week of December to play Winter season (starting early April) and in about first week of July to play Summer season (starting early September).
NIGHT COMPETITION
The Club enters teams in the North Eastern Night Tennis Group. The competition begins at 7.00pm and is held on Tuesday evenings for men, Wednesdays for women and Thursdays for mixed teams. Prospective team members should sign list on Club notice board in late October to play Autumn season (starting early February) and in late April to play Spring season (starting early August).
MIDWEEK VETERANS (MEN’S) COMPETITION
This doubles competition (Eastern Region Veterans Tennis Association) is played by men aged 50 and over on Thursdays, beginning at 1.00pm. Prospective team members should contact Convenor first week in January or earlier to play Autumn season (starting early February) and first week in July or earlier to play Spring season (starting early August).
JUNIOR COMPETITION
The Club has teams ranging from beginners to advanced in the ERT (Eastern Region Tennis) and NEJTA (North Eastern Junior Tennis Association) competitions. Currently, Bulleen has juniors in mixed, boys’ and girls’ teams. Selected juniors are involved in the Vic. Junior Competition as well as Eastern Region Training Squads.
SOCIAL TENNIS
Organised social tennis is provided on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9.00 am, as well as on Thursday afternoons for Veteran men. There is also social tennis on Saturday afternoons, with an increased number joining in during those weeks when competition is not being played. Members are entitled to bring a maximum of 2 visiting tennis players, who are required to pay a visitor’s fee.
COACHING
Russell Cornell, the Club Coach, is a qualified Level 2 coach and a registered member of TCAV and TPAA.
