{"id":9953,"date":"2016-11-16T13:20:17","date_gmt":"2016-11-16T02:20:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/?p=9953"},"modified":"2016-11-21T12:00:43","modified_gmt":"2016-11-21T01:00:43","slug":"triffitt-to-step-down-as-ceo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/news\/2016\/11\/16\/triffitt-to-step-down-as-ceo","title":{"rendered":"Triffitt to step down"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Long standing Tennis ACT CEO, <strong>Ross Triffitt<\/strong> has announced his resignation.<\/p>\n<p>He plans to oversee a smooth transition and will finish his tenure around February 2017.<\/p>\n<p>He\u00a0said his decision to depart was a tough one, however as the longest standing CEO within Tennis Australia, it was time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the current longest standing CEO within Tennis Australia, I now feel it is appropriate to handover to a new CEO who can bring a renewed energy and vigour to Tennis ACT and tackle the challenges ahead.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ross has led the Tennis ACT team since March 2009 and will leave with full confidence in the current state of the organisation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe we have great leadership from one of the best Board\u2019s in the country and a high performing team of staff with an excellent culture, again the best in the country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe newly redeveloped Canberra Tennis Centre, record growth in membership and a busy event calendar reflect the quality of the performance of the organisation under the Tennis ACT Board\u2019s leadership and the staff\u2019s actions.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights of his time include the $28m redevelopment of the Canberra Tennis Centre, 35 per cent growth in membership, 24 per cent growth in registered players and a comprehensive tournament calendar which is expected to provide an economic benefit to the Territory of $13.7m over the 3 years.<\/p>\n<p>In the past 12-months, he\u00a0has lead Tennis ACT through implementation plans of Electronic Gate Access facilities and Book a Court online systems at Canberra community clubs, which shows great promise for public ease of access to tennis in the Territory.<\/p>\n<p>In more recent times, Ross\u00a0has had an active role with the planning and implementation of the Tennis ACT Walk of Fame \u2013 a permanent legacy now at The Canberra Tennis Centre for past, present and future generations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have enjoyed every minute of my tenure as CEO of Tennis ACT. I leave knowing that tennis is positioned well within the Territory and I look forward to seeing its success under a new CEO.<\/p>\n<p>Ross has accepted a new role with local company, Bisa Property, and plans to make the move in early 2017.<\/p>\n<p>A recruitment process for the Tennis ACT CEO position\u00a0has begun.
