{"id":9713,"date":"2016-10-29T10:54:54","date_gmt":"2016-10-28T23:54:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/?p=9713"},"modified":"2016-10-29T10:54:54","modified_gmt":"2016-10-28T23:54:54","slug":"all-australian-wildcards-for-atp-maindraw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/news\/2016\/10\/29\/all-australian-wildcards-for-atp-maindraw","title":{"rendered":"All Australian Wildcards for ATP Maindraw"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Queensland\u2019s <strong>Thomas Fancutt<\/strong> and <strong>Gavin Van Peperzeel<\/strong> alongside Victoria\u2019s <strong>Daniel Nolan<\/strong> and Tasmanian player <strong>Harry Bourchier <\/strong>have been awarded wildcards into the main draw of the <strong>Apis Canberra International<\/strong> ATP Challenger, starting Monday 31 October.<\/p>\n<p>Van Peperzeel is in great form coming through qualifying in Traralgon last week after reaching the quarter-finals. The 24-year-old comes into the main draw as the highest ranked Australian player to receive a wildcard, with a current world ranking of 432. He has been a solid doubles performer on the ITF Futures circuit in 2016, winning two doubles titles in both Italy and the US. Van Peperzeel achieved a career high singles ranking in April this year, of 251 in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Fancutt has burst onto the scene, reaching a career high ranking of 637 on October 2016. Fancutt has had a successful year, winning three doubles titles, and his first singles title in China. He will be looking to build on his recent good form heading in to Australia\u2019s summer of tennis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are obviously thrilled to announce the inclusion of four Australians to the field for the Apis Canberra International,\u201d said Tournament Director <strong>Ross Triffitt.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe countdown to the event is on, with Tennis ACT and tournament staff in final preparations for the tournament starting on 31 October,\u201d Triffitt added.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rounds 1 and 2 of men\u2019s qualifying is now underway. Day 1 men\u2019s qualifying draw can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tournaments\/pro-tournaments\/australian-pro-tour\/canberra\">here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Entry to the Canberra Tennis Centre is free for all five Pro-Tour 2016\/2017 events, with a gold coin donation upon entry on finals days.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Apis Canberra International<\/strong>\u00a0is on at Canberra Tennis Centre in Lyneham, ACT, from 29 October \u2013 6 November. The event is made up of two professional tennis tournaments, both part of the <strong>Australian Pro Tour<\/strong>, a series providing opportunities for players to earn world ranking points and prize money.
