The national awards will held in Melbourne on Monday 28 November at a special ceremony organised by Tennis Australia.\u00a0#newks16<\/p>\n<p>On\u00a0<strong>Saturday 10 September<\/strong>, Tennis ACT will host the <u><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/news-and-events\/events\/tennis-act-annual-awards\">2016 Tennis ACT Awards Celebration<\/a><\/u><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong>&#8211; an event for the Canberra tennis community to get together, celebrate the past year in tennis and recognise outstanding local achievement. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/doc\/event-booking-form_2016-tennis-act-awards-celebration\">Book Now<\/a><\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #e1006e\"><strong>How do I nominate someone?<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<p>See below to view a summary of each award. Click on the category headings to download the award criteria and nomination form.<\/p>\n<p>Once the form is completed in full, it must be saved on your computer and then submitted online (below) by <strong>Sunday 14 August 2016<\/strong>. Nominations and the award recipient are selected by a panel appointed by Tennis ACT.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0091d2\"><a style=\"color: #0091d2\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/doc\/2016-tact-awards-coaching-excellence-club\"><strong>Coaching Excellence \u2013 Club\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>This award recognises the coaches who\u00a0work within their local communities, The coach provides quality coaching programs, is actively involved in growing the game and provides competition opportunities for players to progress their game.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0091d2\"><a style=\"color: #0091d2\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/doc\/2016-tact-awards_coaching-excellence_high-performance\"><strong>Coaching Excellence \u2013 High Performance<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The high performance coach is instrumental in producing successful elite tennis players. The recipient of this award is delivering a quality, comprehensive, holistic coaching program that focuses on the technical, tactical, physical and psychological development of high performance players. In addition, the coach will currently be coaching junior and\/or adult players who have achieved outstanding results and travel regularly to tournaments with his\/her high performance players.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0091d2\"><a style=\"color: #0091d2\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/doc\/2016-tact-awards_coaching-excellence_talent-development\"><strong>Coaching Excellence \u2013 Talent Development<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The Talent Development Coach is instrumental in developing successful high performance tennis players. The recipient of this award is delivering a quality, comprehensive, holistic coaching program that focuses on the technical, tactical, physical and psychological development of talented athletes; primarily 12 years and under. In addition the coach will currently be coaching junior players who have achieved outstanding results, travels to tournaments with his\/her players and be engaged in Project Talent initiatives.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0091d2\"><a style=\"color: #0091d2\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/doc\/2016-tact-awards_most-outstanding-tennis-club\"><strong>Most Outstanding Tennis Club<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Tennis clubs and centres provide facilities and programs to the community that get people playing tennis. This award recognises clubs that have an inviting culture, are accessible to the public, have implemented Tennis Australia programs and have increased competitive opportunities for players.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/doc\/2016-tact-awards-act-adult-club-player-of-the-year\"><span style=\"color: #0091d2\"><strong>Adult Club Player of the Year *<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/h3>\n<p>The adult\u00a0club player of the year recognises a player who has demonstrated outstanding participation, consistent performance, and contributed to the growth and development of their club.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0091d2\"><a style=\"color: #0091d2\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/doc\/2016-tact-awards-act-junior-club-player-of-the-year\"><strong>Junior Club Player of the Year*<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The junior club player of the year recognises a player who has demonstrated outstanding participation, consistent performance, and contributed to the growth and development of their club.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0091d2\"><a style=\"color: #0091d2\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/doc\/2016-tact-awards-_junior-athlete-of-the-year_female\"><strong>Junior Athlete of the Year \u2013 Female<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The Junior Athlete of the Year &#8211; Female award is given to the player 18 years and under who\u00a0is ranked No.1 in their age group (ATP\/WTA\/ITF\/AR), has demonstrated a record of playing for Australia and\/or the ACT in teams events and has displayed a positive attitude at all times.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0091d2\"><a style=\"color: #0091d2\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/doc\/2016-tact-awards_junior-athlete-of-the-year_male\"><strong>Junior Athlete of the Year \u2013 Male<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The Junior Athlete of the Year &#8211; Male\u00a0award is given to the player 18 years and under who\u00a0is ranked No.1 in their age group (ATP\/WTA\/ITF\/AR), has demonstrated a record of playing for Australia and\/or the ACT in teams events and has displayed a positive attitude at all times.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0091d2\"><a style=\"color: #0091d2\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/doc\/2016-tact-awards_most-outstanding-athlete-with-a-disability\"><strong>Most Outstanding Athlete with a Disability<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The Most Outstanding Athlete with a Disability is awarded to a player who has performed consistently over the award period, competed at the highest level within their disability event type and has displayed a positive attitude at all times.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0091d2\"><a style=\"color: #0091d2\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/doc\/2016-tact-awards_most-outstanding-35-tennis-senior\"><strong>Most Outstanding 35+ Tennis Senior<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The mission of 35+ seniors tennis is to increase the playing opportunities and social interaction for tennis players of all standards over age 35. This award recognises involvement in 35+ seniors tennis as a player, administrator or both. The recipient of this award has been involved in raising the public profile of 35+ seniors tennis through demonstrated excellence in playing performance or administration, and demonstrated behaviours that exhibit a high level of integrity.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0091d2\"><a style=\"color: #0091d2\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/doc\/2016-tact-awards_volunteer-achievement-award\"><strong>Volunteer Achievement Award<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The volunteer often goes unrewarded for the many hours of work they contribute to tennis. This award honours the volunteers within tennis who foster relationships within and between their club and the community, and recognises the contribution they make to the sport, specifically in the area of delivering more active players.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/doc\/2016-tact-awards_excellence-in-officiating\"><span style=\"color: #0091d2\"><strong style=\"color: #0091d2\">Excellence in Officiating\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Officials play an important role in tennis, and set the standards at tournaments of all levels. The recipient of this award has provided an outstanding contribution to tennis officiating in Australia through their dedication, skill, attitude and knowledge. Their performances set them apart from their peers at either a domestic or international level and they have been a positive role model for other tennis officials.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0091d2\"><a style=\"color: #0091d2\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/doc\/2016-tact-awards_most-outstanding-school\"><strong>Most Outstanding School<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Schools play an important role in the tennis community by introducing primary and secondary students to tennis and providing links to their local club and coach. This award recognises schools that have aligned with a Tennis Australia qualified coach, have a dedicated staff member assigned to tennis, have strong links with the local club and coach and have incorporated tennis part of the curriculum.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>*ACT based award only.
