The Australian World Junior girls\u2019 team consisting of Olivia Gadecki, Natasha Russell and Canberra\u2019s Annerly Populs, began their Asia\/Oceania final qualifying campaign with an impressive victory.<\/p>\n<p>The girls defeated the Philippines 3-0 in their first pool match with a straight sets win by Russell and Gadecki, before Gadecki combined with Poulos in the doubles to make it a perfect 3-0.<\/p>\n<p>In their second pool match, the girls defeated Indonesia 2-1. \u00a0Gadecki levelled the tie at 1-1 after Poulos lost her singles rubber in three sets. In the doubles rubber, Gadecki partnered with Russell to beat the Indonesian pairing 6-0 6-3. The girls now move into second place in their group behind China and will face China in their final round robin match later today.<\/p>\n<p>With already two victories, the Australian team has already secured a place in the eight-nation elimination stage.
