On April 4, Canberra’s Nick Kyrgios became only the 2nd Canberra bred player ever to break into the worlds top 20. It’s been 23 years since Canberra’s Wally Masur reached a career high ranking of 15, back in October 1993, following his US Open semifinal appearance that year. Nick’s outstanding performance to reach the semifinal of the Miami 1000 Masters propelled him to No.20 in the world and has also given him the crown of Australia’s current No.1 player. He is now 1 spot ahead of Bernard Tomic, who is currently ranked No.21. Nick will be back in Canberra soon for a training block before he commences his clay court season at the Estoril Open in a few weeks time.<\/p>\n
