However, it was mixed fortunes for the Canberra team, with the men losing 2-4, despite world number 30, <strong>Nick Kyrgios <\/strong>lining up for doubles.<\/p>\n<p>The Velocity women\u2019s team was strengthened by the return of world number 317 <strong>Alison Bai.<\/strong> Bai got the team off to a great start, defeating <strong>Kayla Mcphee<\/strong> in two tiebreak sets. <strong>Tyra Calderwood <\/strong>and<strong> Ashley Keir <\/strong>won in contrasting styles with Calderwood defeating <strong>Shan-Ying Barr <\/strong>4-2, 4-2, but Keir having to fight back from a set down to defeat <strong>Ella Husrefovic <\/strong>2-4, 4-2, 4-0. With the Velocity leading 3-0, <strong>Kaitlin Staines<\/strong> couldn\u2019t close the match out, losing to <strong>Somer Dalla-Bona <\/strong>4-3, 3-4, 4-0. The Velocity doubles pairings of Bai\/Keir and Calderwood\/Staines put the match beyond doubt, both winning in straight sets over Mcphee\/Dalla-Bona and Husrefovic\/Barr respectively.<\/p>\n<p>In the men\u2019s match, the Velocity fell behind quickly losing the first 3 singles rubbers, before <strong>James Frawley<\/strong> continued his great form with a comfortable win over <strong>Luke Harvey<\/strong>, 4-2, 4-1. Kyrgios partnered with <strong>Daniel Guccione <\/strong>and after a slow start ran away with the match 1-4, 4-1, 5-0. However, it was the Breakers day taking out the other doubles match 5-4 in the tiebreak.<\/p>\n<p>The Canberra Velocity now play Western Sydney Warriors in Wollongong tomorrow.<br \/>\n<strong>Canberra Velocity Men<\/strong> 2 lost to <strong>Sunshine Coast Breakers <\/strong>4<\/p>\n<p><strong>Singles<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>No 1.
