He fought back to level the second set 4-4 but couldn\u2019t hold the momentum, as Giron broke again and served out the match 6-4 6-4.<\/p>\n<p>Czech 20-year-old <strong>Robin Stanek<\/strong> was in red hot form with a dominant victory over Thompson. The heavy hitting World No. 376 has jumped almost 300 world ranking spots in the past month and was too much for the tournament third seed, winning 6-0 6-2 in just over 40 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Luke Saville (SA)<\/strong> is the only seed remaining in the top half of the draw, after sixth seed <strong>Connor Smith (USA)<\/strong> also fell to German qualifier <strong>Sebastian Fanselow<\/strong> in a third set tiebreak.<\/p>\n<p>It was better news for the Australian women, with wildcards <strong>Olivia Tjadramulia (Qld)<\/strong> and <strong>Maddison Inglis (WA)<\/strong>, <strong>Arina Rodionova (Vic)<\/strong>, <strong>Priscilla Hon (Qld)<\/strong> and qualifier <strong>Destanee Aiava<\/strong> <strong>(Vic)<\/strong> all recording strong wins.<\/p>\n<p>Local hope <strong>Alison Bai<\/strong> couldn\u2019t continue the trend however, as she went down 6-4 6-4 in a tight two sets to second seed <strong>Eri Hozumi (JPN)<\/strong>.
