Canberra\u2019s Dimitri Morogiannis is through to the quarter finals of the Canberra Junior International after straight sets victories in the first two rounds. A number of seeds fell in the first 2 rounds of the boys singles, while it is has been smooth sailing for the seeds in the girls draw.<\/p>\n
As the number 4 seed in the boys singles, Morogiannis has looked comfortable in the first two rounds, defeating James Stathis, 6-0, 6-3, in the first round yesterday, and Rinky Hojikata 6-4, 6-2 today. In tomorrow\u2019s quarter final, Morogiannis will play unseeded Roger Rogowski who knocked out the number 7 seed in the first round. Top two seeds, Bernard Nkomba and Christopher Cox have moved through comfortably to the quarter finals. Nkomba will face number 5 seed Thomas Bosancic, while Cox will face lucky loser Brock Meuris. The other quarter final will see wildcard Jeremy Taylor take on unseeded Blake Clarke.<\/p>\n
In the girls draw, the top seeds have dominated the first two days of the tournament with the top 6 seeds all making the quarters. Top seed Violet Apisah has only dropped 6 games in her opening two rounds, while number two seed Kaitlin Staines has had straight set victories in both matches. Staines will face Renee McBryde who defeated 8 seed Olivia Gadecki. ACT\u2019s Imogen Clews won her first round yesterday, but fell to number 6 seed Jessica Zaviacic today. Zaviacic will now take on Apisah in the quarters. Number 3 seed Selina Turulja has dropped just 2 games and will take on unseeded Madison Bishop who upset the number 7 seed today. Number 4 and 5 seeds Brooke Milner and Amber Marshall will play for the last place in the quarters.<\/p>\n
The doubles events commenced today, with the top 4 boys seeds all made it through to the quarters, while in the girls 3 of the top 4 seeds made it through.<\/p>\n
