Kimberley\u00a0<\/span>Birrell\u00a0in the final of the 2015<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>Mildura<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0Grand Tennis International on Sunday<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span style=\"color: #6e6e6e;font-family: 'Myriad Pro',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt\">\u201cIt\u2019s definitely been a long time coming [winning a title].\u201d Bai said. \u201cIt\u2019s a great feeling but it\u2019s just another stepping stone in my journey and in trying to be the best player I can.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span style=\"color: #6e6e6e;font-family: 'Myriad Pro',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt\">Bai has a strong history with the tournament after reaching the final last year, she went one step further in 2015 with a convincing 6-3, 6-3 win over lucky loser Birrell.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span style=\"color: #6e6e6e;font-family: 'Myriad Pro',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt\">\u00a0\u201cI tried not to overthink it today,\u201d Bai said. \u201cKimberly has great potential and she\u2019s had an amazing week so I tried to just focus on my game and what I\u2019ve been doing well.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span style=\"color: #6e6e6e;font-family: 'Myriad Pro',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt\">\u201cShe was returning quite well but I knew if I stuck to my game plan, it would work pretty well.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span style=\"color: #6e6e6e;font-family: 'Myriad Pro',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt\">Bai was in great form all week, winning the title without dropping a set.\u00a0 This week she will play in the 2015 Victorian Claycourt Championships where she is the number 3 seed, before turning her attention back to Pro Tour events in Mornington and Melbourne.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span style=\"color: #6e6e6e;font-family: 'Myriad Pro',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt\">Bai is currently ranked WTA 415 and after the win will go close to her career high ranking of 397 achieved in 2011.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ACT and
