{"id":6684,"date":"2014-12-20T08:45:04","date_gmt":"2014-12-19T22:45:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/?p=6684"},"modified":"2014-12-20T08:45:04","modified_gmt":"2014-12-19T22:45:04","slug":"kyrgios-to-train-at-new-canberra-tennis-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/news\/2014\/12\/20\/kyrgios-to-train-at-new-canberra-tennis-centre","title":{"rendered":"Kyrgios to train at new Canberra Tennis Centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Word No.52 Nick Kyrgios will use the Canberra Tennis Centre as his training base for the Australian summer of tennis.\u00a0 Kyrgios is under the watchful eye of coach Todd Larkham as he prepares for the Hopman Cup, Apia International, and Australian Open.\u00a0 This week, Kyrgios was the first person to take to the courts at the Canberra Tennis Centre.\u00a0 The overall redevelopment is a joint project between Next Generation Club Australia and Tennis ACT.\u00a0The 19<sup>th<\/sup> of December marked the completion of the tennis facilities at the centre which have been jointly funded by the ACT Government, Tennis Australia, and Tennis ACT.<\/p>\n<p>In speaking about the benefits of the new facilities in Canberra Kyrgios said \u201cBeing so close to home, I\u2019m 5 minutes away from home here, it\u2019s already an unbelievable facility. This is where we grew up and trained every day, so it\u2019s exciting to have a facility like this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Canberra Tennis Centre will host a large number of events in 2015, with the Australian Tennis Seniors Championships the first event to take place from January 5-16<sup>th<\/sup>.
