The Championships will be held from the 5-16<sup>th<\/sup> of January at multiple venues across the ACT, including the newly opened Canberra Tennis Centre. The first week of the championships will consist of a team\u2019s event featuring state teams from across Australia along with some international teams. The individual championships will take place during the second week with events starting from 35 years up to 85 years +.<\/p>\n<p>The ACT will have 13 teams competing across 10 divisions in the team\u2019s events which will take place at Belconnen Tennis Club, Melba Tennis Club, Weston Creek, and the Canberra Tennis Centre. A number of ACT teams are expected to do well including the Men\u2019s 35-45 team which is headed by Damien Ward. The Men\u2019s 60 years team is also a strong contender featuring two current Australian representatives in Colin Holgate and Neville Rodwell. The 55 Women\u2019s team is led by current world doubles champions, Ros Balodis, and is also expected to perform well.<\/p>\n<p>In the second week the focus will turn to the individual championships which will feature 60 events including singles, doubles and mixed. A number of the world\u2019s leading seniors tennis players will be playing in the individual championships. In the Men\u2019s event, Bruno Renoult from France is expected to do well in the 65 Men\u2019s singles, while Glen Busby from Victoria is the current world 55\u2019s world singles champion. In the Women\u2019s event, Canberra\u2019s own Ros Balodis will be expecting to continue her strong history with the Australian Championships to take home another title.
