2nd November.\u00a0 In the men&#8217;s singles, ACT players dominated the draw, with all 4 semi finalists coming from the capital.\u00a0 In the first semi, number 9 seed Jake Okines was up against the unseeded Ryan Frawley.\u00a0 Ryan had caused some upsets on the way to the semis including defeating the number 1 seed, Marco Jovanovic in the round of 16.\u00a0 Ryan continued his good form, defeating Jake 6-1, 6-3.\u00a0 In the other semi, it was the battle of the number 2 seed, Dimitri Morogiannis, and 3 seed, James Frawley.\u00a0 In a tight battle, it was James who came out on top 6-4, 6-4.\u00a0\u00a0The two brothers would go head to head in the final, but it was older brother James who came out on top with a 6-4, 6-1 victory.<\/p>\n<p>In the women&#8217;s singles semi finals 11 year old Canberra junior Annerly Poulos faced number 1 seed Kaitlin Staines.\u00a0 Poulos who had some great wins on the way to the semis battled hard, but went down to Staines 6-3, 6-1.\u00a0 In the other semi final number 8 seed Rhiannon Marlin defeated 5 seed Dael McKenna after McKenna retired injured\u00a0with Marlin leading 6-1.\u00a0 Staines and Marlin then fought it out in the final, with Staines emerging victorious in a big hitting 3 set match, 4-6, 6-0, 6-3.<\/p>\n<p>In the men&#8217;s doubles, unseeded brothers, Christian and Nelson Parker defeated the number 2, 3, and 8 seeds on their way to the final.\u00a0 The pair continued their good form in the final defeating the number 1 seeds Marco Jovanovic and Corey Gaal 7-6, 6-2.\u00a0 In the women&#8217;s doubles, Canberra sisters Sarina and Chorlida Kang knocked off the number one seeds in the semi finals before facing number 2 seeds Kaitlin Staines and ACT&#8217;s Millie Scutt in the final.\u00a0 Staines and Scutt won a tight match 6-4, 6-4.<\/p>\n<p>In the men&#8217;s consolation final, Kevlin Du defeated Canberra&#8217;s Andrea D&#8217;Aprile 6-1, 6-4, while in the women&#8217;s consolation, Sarina Kang defeated younger sister Chorlida 6-3, 6-2.<\/p>\n<p>For all results, please <a href=\"http:\/\/tournaments.tennis.com.au\/sport\/tournament.aspx?id=40A8E1AD-FF49-4AF6-956B-F15A4A4F489D\">click here<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Thank you to all players who participated in the tournament and we look forward to seeing you all next year.<\/p>\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Canberra players have\u00a0displayed some excellent\u00a0results\u00a0in the ACT Bronze AMT held at Lyneham from the 31st October &#8211;
