Garland showcased her consistency and competitive edge under pressure, sealing a standout victory and marking a significant milestone in her professional career.<\/p>\n<p>The Men\u2019s Singles title was decided in a high-quality championship match between two of the game\u2019s most exciting\u00a0<strong>Next Gen talents<\/strong>, with\u00a0<strong>Alexander Blockx<\/strong>\u00a0(BEL) delivering a composed and assured performance to defeat\u00a0<strong>Rafael Jodar<\/strong>\u00a0(ESP)\u00a0<strong>6-4 6-4<\/strong>. Both players showcased their athleticism, shot-making and competitive maturity beyond their years, thrilling the Canberra crowd and underlining the Workday Canberra International\u2019s reputation as a launchpad for emerging stars.<\/p>\n<p>The Women\u2019s Doubles title was claimed by\u00a0<strong>Maria Kozyreva\u00a0<\/strong>and<strong>\u00a0Iryna Shymanovich\u00a0<\/strong>(RUS\/BLR), who fought superbly to lift the trophy over\u00a0<strong>Ena Shibahara and Vera Zvonareva\u00a0<\/strong>(JPN\/RUS)<strong>\u00a07-6(9) 7-5(10)<\/strong>. While the\u00a0<strong>Men\u2019s Doubles<\/strong>\u00a0title was secured by American pairing\u00a0<strong>Mac Kiger<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Reese Stalder<\/strong>, an established ATP Challenger combination with multiple titles together on the international circuit. The duo delivered a composed and clinical performance to defeat Australians\u00a0<strong>Blake Bayldon<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Patrick Harper<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>7-6 6-3<\/strong>\u00a0in the championship match.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tournament Director, Lawrence Robertson<\/strong>, &#8220;this year\u2019s Workday Canberra International has been a great success. We have once again seen the event underpin its position as\u00a0<strong>Canberra&#8217;s premier summer sporting event<\/strong>\u00a0and we continue to uncover the next generation of superstars on both the men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s tours. Alongside of this, we also celebrate the very best of the Canberran tennis community off-court and throughout the week we have hosted Kids Tennis Day, Coaches Conferences, Women Leaders in Tennis and who can forget our very first winner of the\u00a0<strong>1 Point Slam, Yanping Yu<\/strong>\u00a0who had an unforgettable day on court with\u00a0<strong>Nick Kyrgios<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>We have seen over\u00a0<strong>1<\/strong><strong>2,000 through the gates<\/strong>\u00a0and the event will have delivered over\u00a0<strong>$2m worth into the local economy<\/strong>\u00a0none of which would be possible without the support of our\u00a0<strong>major partner Workday<\/strong>, our event partners and our incredible volunteers and ball crew who have helped deliver another week of world class tennis in the capital&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tennis ACT CEO, Mark La Brooy<\/strong>, &#8220;what we\u2019ve witnessed this week is tennis at its best &#8211; energetic, inclusive and inspiring. It\u2019s been wonderful to\u00a0also\u00a0welcome the\u00a0<strong>GLTA Canberra Clay Classic<\/strong>\u00a0onsite through the week as well as see families and fans of all ages come together to enjoy\u00a0both\u00a0tournaments. It\u2019s been great to have local food providers Papi Deli, Sushi Sushi and Underground Spirits, alongside clothing retailer Rallee elevating the event again this year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The final ACT place in the AO 1 Point Slam has been claimed, with\u00a0<strong>Yanping Yu<\/strong>\u00a0securing automatic entry into the Qualifying Round at Melbourne Park on Monday 12 January.
