With over <strong>15 sport providers<\/strong> on-site, attendees had the opportunity to try out a variety of sports including tennis, NRL, AFL, soccer, hockey, rugby union and more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>200 free tennis racquets<\/strong>\u00a0were given away as kids hit the courts to try out the newly-refreshed Red and Orange ball <a href=\"https:\/\/hotshots.tennis.com.au\/?gad_source=1&amp;gclid=CjwKCAiA3JCvBhA8EiwA4kujZgv4k5PzspKHujBgH2qvqK7PZkifDRgBYstT3Vei7yG8VQ_zf8RG0xoC9LYQAvD_BwE&amp;gclsrc=aw.ds\"><strong>Hot Shots<\/strong> <\/a>programs, run by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennisworld.net.au\/tennis-world-canberra\/\"><strong>Tennis World<\/strong><\/a>. Complementary formats were showcased on Centre Court with drop-down<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.poptennis.com\/\">Pop Tennis<\/a> <\/strong>and<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revolutionise.com.au\/pact\/home\/\">Pickleball<\/a><\/strong> courts encouraging many attendees to try the fast-growing sports for the first time.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-standard-landscape wp-image-19185\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/files\/2024\/03\/353-700x450.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/files\/2024\/03\/353-700x450.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/files\/2024\/03\/353-360x230.jpg 360w, https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/files\/2024\/03\/353-200x128.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Canberra&#8217;s own tennis superstar, <strong>Nick Kyrgios<\/strong> hosted a meet and greet for local fans, taking selfies and signing autographs for hundreds of Canberra fans. A big thank you to the <a href=\"https:\/\/nkfoundation.com.au\/\">NK Foundation<\/a> for attending and for helping support community sport in the ACT.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raiders.com.au\/\"><strong>Canberra Raiders<\/strong> <\/a>gave away over 200 prizes for kids who completed their drill circuit.\u00a0 Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gwsgiants.com.au\/\"><strong>GWS Giants<\/strong><\/a> hosted target challenges, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vikingscycling.org.au\/\"><strong>Vikings Cycling Club<\/strong><\/a> ran a busy bicycle circuit and <a href=\"https:\/\/canberraunited.com.au\/\"><strong>Canberra United<\/strong><\/a> set up a penalty shoot-out station.<\/p>\n<p>The event was catered for by <strong>Palacinke Crepes<\/strong> and <strong>Swallow coffee on wheels<\/strong> who kept attendees fuelled up for their all their sporty activities.<\/p>\n<p>A huge thank you to Beyond Bank, the NK Foundation, the Walking Clinic, CBR Massage, KBR and all the participating sports providers for their continued support for community sport in the ACT &amp; Region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">To stay up to date will all <strong>Tennis ACT<\/strong>\u00a0events, join our mailing list <a href=\"https:\/\/tennis.us21.list-manage.com\/subscribe?u=98f27896684e50aae8bf373d8&amp;id=dfd0fe3c3d\">here<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Canberra Tennis Centre opened it&#8217;s gates to hundreds of women and girls at the annual Canberra Girls Get Active Day on Sunday morning.
