Having been upgraded to an\u00a0<strong>ATP125<\/strong> and<strong> WTA125, <\/strong>the event promises to welcome a host of the world&#8217;s top 100 players as they compete for a total prize pool of <strong>USD$320,000.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tournament Director, Lawrence Robertson and Tennis ACT CEO, Mark La Brooy officially launched the summer&#8217;s event on Friday at the Canberra Tennis Centre. The elevated playing field will attract tennis fans from around the ACT and NSW region. With new<strong> community activations<\/strong> and<strong> local food and beverage<\/strong>, there will be something for everyone as the event showcases the best of the Capital&#8217;s local produce. The Canberra International has shown to be a pivotal event for emerging players&#8217; careers. After taking the Women&#8217;s Singles Championship in Canberra, <strong>Katie Boulter (GBR)<\/strong> surged up the rankings,<span class=\"TextRun SCXW20694484 BCX9\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW20694484 BCX9\">\u00a0winning her<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW20694484 BCX9\"> first <strong>WTA<\/strong><\/span><strong><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW20694484 BCX9\">250<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW20694484 BCX9\"> event in Nottingham, and landing at a career high of <strong>#<\/strong><\/span><strong><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW20694484 BCX9\">50<\/span><\/strong><\/span><span class=\"TextRun Highlight SCXW20694484 BCX9\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW20694484 BCX9\">.<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW20694484 BCX9\">\u00a0Likewise,\u00a0Canberra International 2023 Men\u2019s Champion, <strong>Marton Fucsovics (HUN)<\/strong> had an impressive 2023 season, reaching the semi-finals of the <strong>ATP250<\/strong> event in Stuttgart, Germany taking out Denis Shapovalov and Taylor Fritz on the way.
