{"id":16724,"date":"2020-11-16T14:15:18","date_gmt":"2020-11-16T03:15:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/?p=16724"},"modified":"2020-11-16T14:14:54","modified_gmt":"2020-11-16T03:14:54","slug":"canberra-international-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/news\/2020\/11\/16\/canberra-international-2021","title":{"rendered":"Canberra International 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Following\nmonths of extensive discussions with governments across the country and\nmultiple scenarios considered, unfortunately due to the many logistical\nchallenges created by the pandemic the Australian Summer of Tennis will be\nplayed in Victoria in 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This decision has been made because of the restrictions in\nevery State and Territory which make it impossible for the players to prepare\nproperly and for us to run our normal summer program here in Canberra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\nstarted the year by moving the Canberra International to Bendigo under trying\ncircumstances, and unfortunately 2020 has continued to be a year of challenges\nand tough decisions,\u201d said Tennis ACT CEO, Kim Kachel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhile\nwe are disappointed that we won\u2019t see the Canberra International here in\nJanuary, we are very pleased the Australian Summer of Tennis will proceed.&nbsp; The players love Canberra and we are sure\nthey will be back in the future. &nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More\ninformation on the Summer of Tennis calendar will be available soon. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Following months of extensive discussions with governments across the country and multiple scenarios considered, unfortunately due to the many logistical challenges created by the pandemic the Australian Summer of Tennis will be played in Victoria in 2021.
