{"id":16596,"date":"2020-10-02T16:16:59","date_gmt":"2020-10-02T06:16:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/?p=16596"},"modified":"2020-10-02T16:22:38","modified_gmt":"2020-10-02T06:22:38","slug":"tennis-act-board-nominations-now-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/news\/2020\/10\/02\/tennis-act-board-nominations-now-open","title":{"rendered":"Tennis ACT Board nominations now open"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Nominations Committee and Tennis ACT Board of Directors are calling for nominations from candidates who are passionate and motivated to lead the organisation through an exciting time for the sport.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond ensuring the good governance of the organisation, elected Directors will play a significant role overseeing the implementation of our strategy as well as supporting our staff, volunteers and stakeholders through new opportunities and challenges as we work to engage more in our sport in the ACT and region.<\/p>\n<p>There are three positions up for election by the Members this year. The Tennis ACT Board and Nominations Committee endorses two current Directors being re-elected (Lisa Stone and Carolyn Paris). These current Directors constantly display Tennis\u2019 values and meet the basic requirements possessing all the \u2018must have\u2019 elements whilst also addressing the skills priorities below respectively:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lisa Stone \u2013 a person with a strong background in accounting and finance and in developing and applying risk management frameworks, as well as significant experience chairing Finance &amp; Audit Committees and Board of Director Experience<\/li>\n<li>Carolyn Paris \u2013 a person with a strong background in Community Sport and Participation and with significant Government and Public Sector experience and ability to build strong relationships<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The remaining key Skill Priorities identified by the Tennis ACT Board for the Director positions to be filled this year are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A person with a strong background in marketing, branding and digital engagement expertise &#8211; enhancing the consumer experience; lifting participation in clubs and communities and able to continue to assist the digital enablement \/ engagement and broader marketing elements of Tennis ACT<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These priorities have been set taking into account our skills matrix which better aligns Tennis ACT Board Director competencies with our objectives.<\/p>\n<p>The 2020 key dates and election process can be viewed in the memorandum below with \u00a0the upcoming Tennis ACT Annual General Meeting, to be held on Thursday 26 November<\/p>\n<p>For more information, view the links below:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/?p=16548\">Memorandum calling for nominations<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/?p=16549\">Nomination form<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Please complete the nomination form, providing relevant \u00a0statements and a copy of your CV.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nominations will close 4pm Thursday 22 October 2020<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Nominations Committee and Tennis ACT Board of Directors are calling for nominations from candidates who are passionate and motivated to lead the organisation through an exciting time for the sport.
