After four years as Tennis ACT President and seven on the board, Dan Bisa is set to join the Tennis Australia Board. The appointment will see Bisa step down as Tennis ACT President, with long standing board member, Ben Fuller set to take on the role as President of TACT on an interim basis until the 2019 TACT AGM.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m delighted to welcome Dan to our Board,\u201d Tennis Australia Chair Jayne Hrdlicka said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
\u201cDuring his seven years on the Tennis ACT Board, the landscape of the sport has changed significantly in the ACT with the opening of the $10.5 million redevelopment of the Canberra Tennis Centre and installation of the innovative online booking and payment program at 21 venues. These changes in the ACT have led to increased participation and an expanded events schedule.<\/p>\n
\u201cDan will be a great addition to our team with more than 20 years\u2019 experience in the hospitality and property development industries along with his extensive knowledge of tennis participation and pathway strategies.<\/p>\n
Bisa said he was looking forward to joining Tennis Australia.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a lifelong tennis lover and father to two budding junior players, I have a deep and multi-layered connection with the game,\u201d Bisa said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn my time on the ACT Board, we have opened a new premier tennis facility which consistently showcases all levels of tennis. Through well thought out and executed strategies, we\u2019ve secured the financial future of the organisation and built a platform that allows us to expand our tennis footprint into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019d like to take the opportunity to thank the ACT and regional tennis community for their support during my time on the Tennis ACT Board. It has been an honour to serve as President and I\u2019m incredibly proud of what the Board has achieved over the past seven years. We have recruited a first class CEO in Kim Kachel, and helped him foster an outstanding, passionate and dedicated management team that works closely with the tennis community and stakeholders to grow our great sport\u201d Bisa added.<\/p>\n
Ben Fuller will now step into the role after the board appointed him as President. Ben brings significant expertise, leadership, a strategic mindset and a wealth of experience to the role. With over 17 years’ experience as a development, construction, and property lawyer and a Partner at international law firm MinterEllison, Fuller played a key role in contract negotiations for the redevelopment of the Canberra Tennis Centre. A board member since 2011, Fuller is looking forward to the new challenge.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe past few years we have ensured the financial stability of the sport, secured world class tennis in Canberra and seen participation levels hit a record 32,679 players. I look forward to building on the legacy that Dan has left and focusing on our number one strategic priority which is securing facilities in the Gungahlin region and growth corridors of the ACT.<\/p>\n
