{"id":14249,"date":"2018-10-31T10:20:57","date_gmt":"2018-10-30T23:20:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/?p=14249"},"modified":"2018-10-31T10:20:57","modified_gmt":"2018-10-30T23:20:57","slug":"kyrgios-to-visit-kids-tennis-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/news\/2018\/10\/31\/kyrgios-to-visit-kids-tennis-day","title":{"rendered":"Kyrgios to visit Kids Tennis Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The ACT\u2019s top player, <strong>Nick Kyrgios <\/strong>will visit <strong>Kids Tennis Day<\/strong> at the <strong>Apis Canberra International<\/strong> on Saturday 3 November.<\/p>\n<p>Kyrgios will help hand out free <strong>ANZ Tennis Hot Shots <\/strong>racquets to the first 100 kids aged 12-and-under through the gates with the world No.38 looking forward to visiting his home courts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s always nice to be back home in Canberra and I\u2019ll be heading down to the courts to watch some of my mates play during the week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKids Tennis Day will be a lot of fun, handing out racquets, having a hit with local kids and hopefully inspiring some kids to be active.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kyrgios will also be at the venue on Sunday as he raises awareness of the <strong>NK Foundation <\/strong>in the Canberra community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am really passionate about helping disadvantaged and underprivileged kids and through the NK Foundation I have the opportunity to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tennis fans will also have the opportunity to have their photo taken with the <strong>Australian Open <\/strong>trophies, with the <strong>Norman Brookes Challenge Cup <\/strong>and <strong>Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup <\/strong>set to be on display at Kids Tennis Day.<\/p>\n<p>A host of additional activities will also be on offer including ANZ Tennis Hot Shots, <strong>Fitbit Cardio Tennis <\/strong>demonstrations, Enchanted Canberra\u2019s Captain America and Anna from Frozen, <strong>Icon Water <\/strong>mascots Hydration Girl and Drain Sheriff, along with activities by <strong>Next Gen Canberra.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Apis<\/strong> will host a charity sausage sizzle raising money for the official charity partner <strong>Menslink.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kids Tennis Day, a free community event will be held at the Canberra Tennis Centre from 9am-11am on Saturday 3 November.<\/p>\n<p>Following Kids Tennis Day, the semifinals of the Apis Canberra International will take place from 11am.<\/p>\n<p>For further detail on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/news-and-events\/events\/kids-tennis-day\">Kids Tennis day<\/a> click here or visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/157270381886234\/\">facebook page<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The ACT\u2019s top player, Nick Kyrgios will visit Kids Tennis Day at the Apis Canberra International on Saturday 3 November.
