Sixth seed Olivia Rogowska<\/strong> (VIC)\u00a0has secured her third title in five tournaments with a commanding 6-1 6-2 victory over 17-year-old Destanee Aiava<\/strong>\u00a0(VIC) in the Apis Canberra International on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The world No.226 broke Aiava\u2019s serve twice to charge to a 3-0 lead in the opening set and never looked back.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy attitude today was spot on, before the match I knew that I had to get off to a really good start and I did just that,\u201d Rogowska said.<\/p>\n

The pair then traded breaks as Aiava began to find her range, but Rogowska proved too solid from the baseline when it mattered most. She took the set in just 23 minutes.<\/p>\n

Things remained on serve early in the second, however a couple of forehand errors by Aiava helped secure the break.<\/p>\n

Rogowska faced a couple of break points herself in the seventh game, but managed to hold thanks to some blistering backhand winners.<\/p>\n

She broke again in the eight game to secure the match 6-2 in under an hour.<\/p>\n

Rogowska credited her win to a positive mindset on court.<\/p>\n

\u201cI definitely played some really solid tennis today,\u201d she said.\u00a0\u201cIf she hit a good shot, I mentally bounced back really well and focused on the next point, and I didn\u2019t give her many free points, and I\u2019m really please I closed it out.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Victorian now boasts an incredible 19 wins from 21 outings over the past five Australian Pro Tour events, of which she has won three.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to take a lot out of these couple of weeks, I\u2019ve learnt so much from playing all these matches.\u00a0 It\u2019s a great momentum swing going into January,\u201d Rogowska added.<\/p>\n
