International<\/strong>.\u00a0 In a blockbuster first round match, top seed <strong>Arina Rodionova <\/strong>(VIC) will face <strong>Priscilla Hon <\/strong>(QLD). \u00a0Unfortunately Davis Cup player\u00a0<strong>John Millman\u00a0<\/strong>(QLD) has been forced to withdraw from his first round clash with\u00a0<strong>Sasi Kumar Mukund\u00a0<\/strong>(IND) and has been replaced in the draw by 2015 Canberra International champion\u00a0<strong>Benjamin Mitchell\u00a0<\/strong>(QLD).<\/p>\n<p>Millman\u2019s strong end to 2017 has continued, making the final of the ATP Challenger event in Ho Chi Minh City last week. \u00a0He will play first up on centre court on Wednesday against <strong>Sasi Kumar Mukund <\/strong>(IND).<\/p>\n<p>Top seed Rodionova will then face Hon, who is the fifth highest ranked player in the draw, but unseeded after progressing through qualifying.\u00a0 Both players are currently sitting at career high ranking with Rodionova at 116 and Hon at 223.<\/p>\n<p>Eight seed <strong>Omar Jasika <\/strong>(VIC) will then take on the inform\u00a0<strong>Jason Kubler <\/strong>(QLD). \u00a0Kubler has risen almost 600 places in the ATP ranking in the past month, currently sitting at 349 after winning Traralgon and finalist performances in Toowoomba and Cairns.<\/p>\n<p>Local hope Bai will then round out centre court action, taking on qualifier <strong>Ramu Ueda <\/strong>(JPN) who eliminated National Academy Canberra athlete Kaitlin Staines on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lizette Cabrera\u00a0<\/strong>(QLD),\u00a0<strong>Destanee Aiava\u00a0<\/strong>(VIC), <strong>Kimberley Birrell\u00a0<\/strong>(QLD), and\u00a0<strong>Olivia Rogowska\u00a0<\/strong>(VIC) all feature in Wednesday&#8217;s schedule.<\/p>\n<p>In Tuesday\u2019s results, <strong>Matthew Ebden <\/strong>(WA) and <strong>Marc Polmans<\/strong> (VIC) progressed to the second round with contrasting victories today.\u00a0 Ebden recorded a comfortable win over <strong>Brydan Klein <\/strong>(GBR) 6-3 6-4 while Polmans battled for almost three hours to edge out <strong>Dayne Kelly <\/strong>(VIC) in three grueling sets.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrew Harris <\/strong>(VIC) defeated lucky loser <strong>Chris O\u2019Connell <\/strong>(NSW), who was a last minute replacement for top seed <strong>Jordan Thompson <\/strong>(NSW) who was forced to withdraw from the tournament with tonsillitis.\u00a0 Wildcard <strong>Blake Ellis <\/strong>(QLD) posted a great win over top 300 player <strong>Lucas Miedler <\/strong>(AUT), while <strong>Alex Bolt <\/strong>(SA), <strong>Gavin Van Peperzeel <\/strong>(QLD), and <strong>Maverick Banes <\/strong>(QLD) made it through to the second round.<\/p>\n<p>Play is set to commence at the Canberra Tennis
