{"id":12427,"date":"2017-10-28T21:07:45","date_gmt":"2017-10-28T10:07:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/?p=12427"},"modified":"2017-10-28T21:23:24","modified_gmt":"2017-10-28T10:23:24","slug":"mays-leads-local-charge-in-qualifying","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/news\/2017\/10\/28\/mays-leads-local-charge-in-qualifying","title":{"rendered":"Mays leads local charge in qualifying"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>National Academy player <strong>Lisa Mays<\/strong> will lead Canberra\u2019s charge in the women\u2019s qualifying for the <strong>Apis Canberra International 2017<\/strong><strong>, <\/strong>which starts on Sunday. \u00a0Mays will be vying to win three rounds in qualifying in order to make it through to the main draw of the USD$60,000 ITF event.<\/p>\n<p>The 17-year-old, who has relocated to train with Todd Larkham at the National Academy Canberra, said she is looking forward to playing at the Canberra Tennis Centre this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t wait to get on court and hopefully win a few rounds,\u201d May said. \u201cI\u2019m training hard and progressing my game, I think it\u2019s doing well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mays, who will play <strong>Kelsey Lewis\u00a0<\/strong>(NSW)\u00a0in the opening round of qualifying, said she is relishing her time training in Canberra.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI loved it from day one.
