{"id":12225,"date":"2017-09-28T20:13:08","date_gmt":"2017-09-28T10:13:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/?p=12225"},"modified":"2017-09-28T20:13:08","modified_gmt":"2017-09-28T10:13:08","slug":"berezov-and-bulte-claim-cji-titles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/act\/news\/2017\/09\/28\/berezov-and-bulte-claim-cji-titles","title":{"rendered":"Berezov and Bulte claim CJI titles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Anastasia Berezov <\/strong>(NSW) and <strong>Alex Bulte <\/strong>(VIC) have claimed the <strong>Canberra Junior International <\/strong>titles at the Canberra Tennis Centre.\u00a0 Both recorded hard fought three set victories in windy conditions.<\/p>\n<p>In the Girls final, 13 year old Berezov took on second seed <strong>Oleksandra Kalachova <\/strong>(NZL).\u00a0 After winning the first set 6-4, Kalachova levelled taking the second by the same margin.\u00a0 It was Berezov who proved to be more consistent in the decided, taking it 6-3 to win her maiden ITF title.\u00a0 Berezov was pleased with the victory saying \u201cIt\u2019s my first ITF win and I\u2019m really happy about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Berezov will now turn her focus to the 14\/u Girls Australian Claycourt Championships in Canberra where she will be the top seed.\u00a0 \u201cI\u2019m taking quite a lot of confidence into the nationals, hopefully I can win the nationals to top it all off\u201d, Berezov added.<\/p>\n<p>The Boys final between Bulte and <strong>Cooper White <\/strong>(VIC) proved to be a tough battle.\u00a0 With White leading by a set and 6-5, Bulte came within two points of losing the match.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just thought I\u2019ve just got to go for these shots and then I hit three forehand winners in a row to break him there and make the tiebreak.\u00a0 I played pretty solid in the tiebreak and then had more confidence in the third,\u201d Bulte said.<\/p>\n<p>After over two hours, Bulte won the match 2-6, 7-6, 6-4.\u00a0 Bulte will now head to Chinese Taipei for two ITF junior events.<\/p>\n<p>In the doubles events Kalachova teamed with <strong>Emilia Price <\/strong>(NZL) to defeat <strong>Komaki Ido<\/strong> (QLD) and \u00a0<strong>Natasha Russell<\/strong> (SA), while White and <strong>Edward Vo<\/strong> (SA) beat <strong>Patrick Kotan<\/strong> (QLD) and <strong>Srijan Singh<\/strong> (NSW)<\/p>\n<p>The Canberra Tennis Centre will now host the 12\/u and 14\/u Australian Claycourt Championships from 29 September \u2013 4 October, along with the inaugural Canberra Wheelchair Tennis Open from 29 September \u2013 1 October.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Anastasia Berezov (NSW) and Alex Bulte (VIC) have claimed the Canberra Junior International titles at the Canberra Tennis Centre.\u00a0 Both recorded hard fought three set victories in windy conditions.
