With partly cloudy morning conditions, Day 2 matches resumed at 10am, however another bout of heavy rain disturbed play at 2pm with four live singles matches forced off court.<\/p>\n<p>11 singles matches were completed, four interrupted and one yet to start before play was interrupted on Day 2. The last singles match to occur was between local main draw wildcard <strong>James Frawley<\/strong> (ACT) and event #1 finalist, <strong>Blake Mott<\/strong> (NSW).<\/p>\n<p>Of the 11 singles matches completed, four seeded players progressed to R16 including Spaniard [1] <strong>Jordi Samper-Montana<\/strong> (ESP), Victorian <strong>Omar Jasika<\/strong> [3], ACT Claycourt International #1 doubles champion <strong>Evan King<\/strong> [5] (USA) and ACT Claycourt International #1 singles champion, <strong>Marc Polmans<\/strong> (VIC).<\/p>\n<p>Wildcards <strong>Jason Kubler<\/strong> (QLD) and <strong>Jeremy Beale<\/strong> (AUS) forced out their main draw opponents in straight sets while Japanese competitor <strong>Sora Fukuda <\/strong>ousted seventh seed<strong> Jose Statham <\/strong>(NZL).<\/p>\n<p>And in a <strong>Mildura Grand International<\/strong> final re-match, Victorian sixth seed <strong>Dayne Kelly<\/strong> couldn\u2019t repeat his 2017 final performance against opponent <strong>Bradley Mousley <\/strong>(SA), Mousley taking the match 6-7[3], 7-6[4], 6-1 in 2 hours and 34 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Event #2 attracted 71 players at sign-in attracted 68 players at sign in for the first event, forcing seven alternates out of competition \u2013 another first for Canberra Pro Tour events in the space of two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>For up to date information, please visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tournaments\/pro-tournaments\/australian-pro-tour\/canberra-clay-court-international-2\">tournament website <\/a>and for live match scores and progression, <a href=\"http:\/\/itfprocircuit.tennis-live-scores.com\/scoreboard.aspx?na=AUS\">click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Heavy rain has delayed ACT Claycourt International #2, with showers on Day 1 and Day 2 of competition.
