The National Academy – Perth is a high performance training environment that provides athletes the necessary training and development opportunities that an elite athlete requires. In 2006, Tennis Australia created five (5) National Academy (NA) training programs around Australia in the major catchment areas of Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. The NA caters primarily for athletes aged between 10 years and 16 years old who have met rigorous entrance criteria.
The National Academy is only possible through the partnership between Tennis Australiaand Tennis West. The two bodies play a major role in the provision of staff, facilities and support services.
The information is designed to give prospective athletes, parents and affiliated coaches a better understanding of what the NA provides to those who qualify for the program.
