Eighteen students from John Forrest Secondary College Tennis Specialist Program, travelled to Melbourne during the first week of the Australian Open, accompanied by tennis specialist teacher, John Campbell.

 

Highlights included watching Angelique Kerber and Roger Federer playing on Rod Laver Arena and Daria Gavrilova and Grigor Dimitrov playing matches on Margaret Court Arena

 

Students also played Beach Tennis at Port Melbourne with Paul Mapley, visited the National Sports Museum and participated in various other activities in the Melbourne CBD.

 

The tour also included a trip back in time to experience Royal Tennis at Ballarat and students were also put through their paces at Australia’s largest indoor tennis venue, the Ballarat Indoor Tennis Centre that has 12 indoor courts.

 

All students had a fantastic tennis experience and enjoyed all aspects that Melbourne city and the AO had to offer.
