Over ninety tennis club enthusiasts attended Tennis West’s Annual Club Forum on Friday 8th October at the State Tennis Centre. Jim Davies, Tennis West Board Member and 303 Advertising Chairman facilitated the presentation titled ‘Develop, Survive and Thrive’.
As the name suggests, the presentation was directed at club development and servicing today’s tennis market. Attendees were exposed to the extensive market research conducted by the GEMBA Marketing Group and Tennis Australia, the largest sports market research carried out in Australia to date. Insights, common themes and ideas were all recognised and generated – giving clubs background and facts to justify a strategic marketing approach.
Tennis Australia Community Tennis Manager Robin O’Neill also presented at the Forum, offering more clarity on Tennis Australia’s strategic directions for the sport, with a greater emphasis on Community Tennis than ever before. O’Neill also presented an array of national and international club development ideas, for servicing the tennis market segments identified in the research as priorities – with a major shift to a social and fitness focus rather than competition.
Thank you to all club members who shared elements of their club development ideas on the day; your insights on practical club experience is vital for the development of our great game in Western Australia. This is appreciated greatly by other clubs, Tennis West and Tennis Australia.
